About Dr. Sushil Kumar Meher
Dr. Sushil Kumar Meher is Head of IT and Chief Information Security Officer at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where he has worked in medical informatics since 1992. He heads the institute's health IT group and Computer Facility, supervising its data centre, disaster recovery, network infrastructure and IT security, and leads the technical group working towards a paperless and filmless institution. He is nodal officer for the SNOMED CT implementation at AIIMS and works on an AI-in-oncology project funded by the Ministry of Electronics and IT.
Meher holds an MCA from NIT Rourkela, an MBA in Hospital Management, an MPhil in Computer Science and a PhD in eHealth. His research covers telemedicine, electronic health records and mobile health.
Meher was President of the Indian Association of Medical Informatics (2014-2016) and organising secretary of the APAMI 2014 conference in Delhi. Recognitions include the ITNext NEXT100 award (2021) and VAR India's top healthcare CIO listing in 2020 and 2021.
