About Sanjeev Gupta
Sanjeev Kumar Gupta is Chief Executive Officer of the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), an industry-led Section 8 company that promotes the state's digital economy. He has led KDEM since August 2022, with a mandate covering IT and GCC promotion, ESDM, startups, talent and the Beyond Bengaluru programme for technology clusters outside the capital.
Before KDEM, Gupta was Managing Director and CEO of Lahari, the Mysuru ESDM cluster promoted by the Government of India, the Government of Karnataka and industry (2018-2022). Earlier he was a General Manager at Microsoft, a Managing Director at Accenture (2011-2016) and an executive in IBM's government programme (2008-2011). He began his career in the Indian Statistical Service, serving from 1998 to 2008 in the Government of India, including the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
He holds an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, and degrees in Statistics from Delhi University (MSc) and Banaras Hindu University (BSc Hons).
About Karnataka Digital Economy Mission
Karnataka Digital Economy Mission is a Section 8 not-for-profit set up in 2021 as a bridge between the Government of Karnataka and industry; the state holds 49 per cent and industry bodies ASSOCHAM, IESA and NASSCOM hold 51 per cent. It promotes investment in IT, GCCs, ESDM, startups and talent, including the Beyond Bengaluru programme for clusters outside the capital.
