About Aman Mittal, IAS
Aman Mittal, IAS, is Joint Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA), the Government of Maharashtra's think tank under the Planning Department, a post held since June 2024. At MITRA, Mittal leads strategic initiatives, policy implementation and the coordination of multi-departmental projects for the state government.
An Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2015 batch, Maharashtra cadre, Mittal has served as Project Officer, Kalwan (2017-18); Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad Kolhapur (2018-21); Municipal Commissioner, Latur (2021-22); Collector and District Magistrate, Jalgaon (2022-23); and Deputy Secretary, Government of Maharashtra (2023-24). An early central posting in 2017 was as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
Mittal holds BTech and MTech degrees in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi.
