About Hemant Garg
Dr Hemant Garg is Deputy Director in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, a post he has held since February 2025 with responsibility for legal and public relations matters and inquiries. He also holds Deputy Director and recovery officer charges with the Employees' State Insurance Corporation for Punjab and Chandigarh.
From 2020 to January 2025 he was an officer of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) at GIFT City, Gandhinagar, where he served as nodal officer for social media outreach, managed the first InFinity Forum fintech event in December 2021 and later headed the Division of Fintech Ecosystem Development in the Fintech Department. Earlier he worked in legal and arbitration roles at The PSCAD Bank Ltd in Chandigarh.
He holds a PhD in law specialising in arbitration and an LLM in corporate and criminal law from the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, and an MBA from Edinburgh Napier University. He is a certified commercial arbitrator.
