About Shalini Kapoor
Shalini Kapoor is Chief Strategist, Data and AI at EkStep Foundation, a role she has held since March 2025. She has also been an independent director of Titan Company Limited since May 2025.
She previously spent about three years at Amazon Web Services as Chief Technologist for Worldwide Public Sector, Country Head for Public Sector, India and South Asia, and Chief Technologist for Asia Pacific and Japan. Before that she worked at IBM for 22 years, becoming the first IBM Fellow from India and Vice President for AI Applications; she created the Watson IoT lab in India, led AI infusion across IBM products, and worked with CBSE to introduce an AI curriculum for classes 11 and 12.
Kapoor has over 28 years of experience and holds 15 patents. She is co-chair of FICCI's technology committee, a member of the World Economic Forum's AI advisory board, and author of AI for You: The New Game Changer (Bloomsbury). She is an alumna of S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research.
