About Mahesh Hariharan Iyer
Mahesh Hariharan Iyer is Vice President of Engineering at the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH), Bengaluru, a role taken up in April 2026. At RBIH, Iyer works on digital public infrastructure for the financial sector and is building the hub's AI and data science team.
An enterprise architect with more than 26 years of experience, Iyer has worked on cloud-native platforms, enterprise modernisation, cloud strategy and migration, and Industry 4.0 technologies such as digital twins, simulation and IoT integration. Before RBIH, Iyer was Director of Enterprise Architecture at Mindsprint (2025 to 2026), Principal Consultant and Enterprise Architect at Thoughtworks (2022 to 2025), and spent over 16 years at ESI Group in Bengaluru as Software Architect and later Principal Technical Manager, serving automotive, aerospace, nuclear and manufacturing clients. Earlier roles include Senior Software Engineer at NDS (now Synamedia).
Iyer holds a master's degree in software systems from BITS Pilani and completed a postgraduate-level advanced certification programme in digital manufacturing and smart factories at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.

The Reserve Bank Innovation Hub is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of India, set up as a Section 8 company with an initial capital contribution of Rs 100 crore and inaugurated in Bengaluru in March 2022 to promote financial innovation and inclusion. Its projects include the Unified Lending Interface.
