About Shireen Ali
Shireen Ali is Head, UK Data Enablement and Standards at HSBC, a Director-level role based in Bengaluru that covers data risk and data product delivery for HSBC's UK business, including AI-led automation and data governance. In a previous role at HSBC, Ali established and scaled a 100-plus-member ESG shared services capability within HSBC's global capability centre in India.
Ali has more than 20 years of experience in data and analytics in financial services. Before rejoining HSBC in 2024, Ali spent ten years at Citi in Bengaluru, rising from Assistant Vice President to Senior Vice President, Analytics and Information Management, building analytics teams for transaction banking and consumer operations in APAC and designing a client-retention framework for global transaction banking. Earlier roles include Senior Manager, Product Analytics at HSBC (2009-2014), project manager at i3 Consulting (Sutra Management) and analyst in risk analytics at McKinsey & Company.
Ali holds an MA in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a BSc in Economics from Presidency University, Kolkata.
