About Deepika Sandeep
Deepika Sandeep is Head of the AI/ML Centre of Excellence at HSBC, based in Bengaluru, a role held since January 2025, with a focus on driving adoption of emerging technologies at the bank.
Before HSBC, Sandeep spent five years at Honeywell as AI Leader and then Director of AI (2020-24), leading AI product development and innovation strategy for its building automation business, covering sustainability, automation and digital twins, and led a community of practice for generative AI. Earlier roles include Manager and Senior Manager, AI and ML, at the renewable energy company Bharat Light & Power (2018-20); advisor for business intelligence and analytics at NTT DATA; data analytics architect at Bosch Global Software Technologies; and research positions at CoreLogic and TCS Research and Innovation.
Sandeep holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras and a BE in Electronics and Instrumentation from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysuru, and has featured in Analytics India Magazine's 40 Under 40 Data Scientists and 3AI's Inspiring Women in AI & Analytics lists.
